About Holy Tsar-Martyr Nicholas II
Saint Nicholas II, the last Tsar of Russia, is honored with his wife Alexandra and their children among the Royal Passionbearers. The family was killed in 1918, and the Orthodox Church remembers their endurance of suffering in faith. Their feast is commemorated on July 17.
Nicholas is depicted in imperial dress, holding a cross and a crown beneath the inscription identifying him as the Tsar-Martyr.
